New workshop to plan for the next farming generation
Dairy Women’s Network members will get a hand in planning for the future of their farm business, with a new workshop series held in conjunction with ASB and NZ CA Limited.
These free three-hour sessions will help attendees understand their options for succession and what the future of their farm business could look like; what to think about when going through the process; and how to navigate the common challenges when planning for the future, such as finances.
Farmers often shy away from having the courageous conversations with key stakeholders around succession and this knowledge is a key aspect of delivering these workshops to the regions.
“Our core values are about empowering our members and equipping them to succeed,” says Jules Benton, CEO of the Dairy Women’s Network. “That doesn’t just mean providing on-farm knowledge, but enabling them to create targets for themselves personally and their farms, and achieve those targets.
“We hope that by the end of these workshops, farmers will know more about their options for the future and how to work toward those goals and decisions.”
At the end of this workshop, you will understand:
• How to have your house in order – financially and farming results
• Strategic planning and what to think about when going through the process
• What the succession options are
• Common challenges with succession
• How to have courageous conversations with key stakeholders
This three-hour workshop is suited to any person who would like to know where to start the succession process.
