Meet Our People

Leanne, originally from a local farming background and a graduate of Wairarapa College, earned her Bachelor of Business Studies from Massey University in 1985. After a few years with an international accountancy practice, she joined a local practice in 1989 and became a partner in 2002. Her expertise lies in farm accounting, taxation, and company and trust structures. Leanne is a member of the Institute of Directors and was honored with Fellowship to the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand in 2018 for her significant contributions to the profession and community.

Outside of her accounting role, Leanne is involved in various community organizations and currently serves as a Trustee of the Masterton Community Trust, Director of Trust House Limited, and a board member of Wellington Water Limited and the Wellington Free Ambulance Service. She has held roles such as Deputy Chair on the UCOL council and a DHB board member. Married with two children, Leanne is actively engaged in community service, including her involvement with the Wairarapa Community Health Trust.

Fiona was born and raised in Masterton and has been with Southey Sayer from the beginning.

A qualified Accounting Technician since 1997 Fiona enjoys the variety of what accountancy has to offer, no one day is the same as the next!

Fiona enjoys being able to support clients using technology to fit their needs and solve their software issues.   She works with a diverse range of clients addressing day-to-day accounting challenges, and annual accounting and taxation compliance matters.

A keen gardener and book reader when time permits, she also volunteers at Aratoi and loves a good gym workout.

Dayna joined the Southey Sayer team in 2016 and has since gained her Accounting Technician qualification with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand of which she is also a member.

She works with a wide range of clients, both commercial and farming, assisting them on their day to day matters as well as annual accounting and taxation compliance and planning. 

She has an in-depth knowledge of various accounting software systems, namely Xero, Figured and Farm Focus.

Married with two children, Dayna and her husband own a dairy farm in the South Wairarapa, which gives her great insight into the industry with her hands-on experience.
